This really IS a creature! What is it?!
This blog is about all creatures great and small (at http://roxannerustand.blogspot.com if you are reading this on Facebook) though that usually means pets, horses, and other familiar animals. But this is creature I found on the side of our barn. Looks like it is related to the dragon flies, given its wings, but it was huge and unlike anything I’d ever seen before…a little over 3.5 inches long. Do you know what it is?!
Try contacting a university. You may have a unique critter–that you can keep, by the way!!!
It sure is different looking. I think it may be a Tramea Lacerata Dragonfly. The common name is Black Saddlebags. I found a website called BugGuide.net and typed dragonfly in the search bar. It came up with lots of pictures.

What it IS is scary as heck! lol I'm glad you found it on your barn, instead of me finding it on mine. I would have had a heart attack! lol
